Artist's Comments

This is Teemu, my green male cresty. He's Loki's man, and should be a dad soon... Halfway anyhow. Loki's supposed to be laying eggs any day now. :D

This is my first run with my new light box. I like how it's working out so far, but I still need to work on the lighting arrangement. Things are coming out a bit dark and flat at this point.

I get what you mean with the flatness... definitely something to work through, though! :D

I need to figure out how to get a liiiittle bit harder light without the shadows being too much harder... I think moving the light that was on the right hand side a little forward would help. Looking at the clay axolotl, which was taken with the same lighting set up, I think moving that light forward and down would do the trick.

Either way, this is a significant step forward in my gecko photography. Most of my gecko photos have CRAPPY lighting. They bounce around too much for me to set up lights, so having them contained in a light box helps a lot. :D

And I'm sure they like all the heat in there. XD

I'm really glad. :) It makes me pretty happy to take care of them, especially after seeing neglected animals, and rescuing some of them. This particular gecko was well taken care of before I got him, but his girlfriend was severely dehydrated. I'm just glad they don't have to live like that anymore.

Thanks. :) It's an improvement, at least. I haven't liked very many of my gecko shots, but this one is better than previous attempts, I think.

the mouse i own right now was abused by his previous owner after he got in a fight with another male. he tends to be 'bi-polar' as one of my friends like to call it. some days he's really frightened of people and will even bite me if i get too close others he jumps right into my hand. but at least he's living the good life now. *whispers to self* spoiled rotten thing.. XD

its always hard to take pictures of smaller creatures i think, especially cage/glass container dwelling ones, so the fact that you can Get pictures as good as the ones you have deserves my praise. :worship:
